Three for Three Fishing

Started the year out great with 3 straight days of fishing. I was able to get out for a few hours of fishing the Beaver Tailwaters each day to start this year.  I was going to go for four, but my friend ended up sick this morning and with snow, cold weather and strong wind and wind chills at -2 degrees, it didn’t hurt my feelings any that we called off the trip.  I love a challenge, but with 10-20 mph winds, that was the deal breaker.  I can handle the cold temperatures if there isn’t any wind, but that wind is game changer.

Fishing has been tough the last couple days.  The usual midge patterns just aren’t producing like they have been.  I’ve also tried soft hackle, nymphs, eggs, micro jigs and san juan worms and haven’t gotten much interest.

It’s back to the grind this week in corporate America.  Been spoiled with the holidays the last 2 weeks so it’s going to be tough to have to put a full week of work in again.

Happy Fishing and Stay Trout Tough!
