Roaring River Jan 11th

roaring river 020-001

Nice cold and dreary afternoon to get out and fish for a little while.  Tried Roaring River in Southern Missouri this afternoon.  I thought the rain drizzle would stop earlier in the afternoon, but it continued almost all day.  Thinking it was going to stop, we decided to give it a go.  The water was slightly clouded so sight fishing was a little tougher than usual.  Threw a miracle egg pattern and caught a couple, but nothing too great.

We got there around 3:30 and the park closes at 4pm, so we didn’t have much time to fish.  We thought we could go outside the park to fish the last hour before dark, but found out from a nice and helpful ranger that the waters below the park are closed until March.  Pretty frustrating to make the 45 minute trip to fish for 30 minutes.  So frustrating to try and read what all the different regulations are for the different waters and still get it wrong.  Still fun to get out and fish.  Got a few pictures of the scenery and ice.  Such a nice place to visit.

Happy Fishing and Stay Trout Tough!
