Great morning fishing the Beaver Tailwaters this morning.  The weather was nice and the fishing was fair.  The fish weren’t all that active, but was still able to catch some descent numbers.  I tied up some different midges this week with the stretch cord and tried them out.  Got a little action with a red version, but not to good on the other stuff.  I tried to tie some different tan scuds and they didn’t work at all.  I had the best luck with the Blue Dunn Midge and P&P Midge.

One story to tell.  I caught a stocker that was a little larger than normal and when I went to take a picture I noticed it had something hanging out of its mouth.  At first I thought it was some algae or something, but when I went to wipe it away I found it was fishing line.  I looked in its mouth and found there was not one, but two hooks in its mouth.  The hooks were huge like maybe a size 2.  I removed the hooks and released it without any pictures since it had endured enough stress.  The fish was just in that 14 inch range, so not sure how he was able to break off two lines.  I landed him with 7x tippet.

Happy Fishing and Stay Trout Tough!
