Another great Saturday on the White River Beaver Tailwaters. Lots of rain throughout the night and continued off and on most of the morning.  Water was slightly clouded from the run off, but not terrible.

Fishing started off slow for me.  I managed to get quite a few subtle bites, but was only able to manage landing 2.  I hadn’t seen the fished be so polite before.  They were really frustrating.  I saw one friend ending his day of fishing and he had pretty good luck with the micro jigs.  Each catching some pretty solid numbers in just a couple short hours.  I decided to move down the stream further near where they had such good luck.  The fishing was much better down there where the water was slower and deeper.  The fish started to surface as a small hatch was taking place in the drizzle.  I tied on an olive stretch tube midge and started catching some pretty good numbers with both the bead head and thread head.  I later tied on a emerger pattern of the same and really started to light them up.  It was nearly an every cast type of catch for awhile.

The second picture above with the label 2 midges caught me by surprise.  I never saw the other midge until I started to crop the image.  That was funny to see something else in its mouth that I didn’t realize when I caught it.

Video of the weekend fun!

Happy Fishing and Stay Trout Tough!
